Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Assistant Professor (Clinical) and Director (Academic) at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

  • Work with the Chair and appropriate department committees in the development, revision, and evaluation of program curriculum.
  • Manage the affairs of the program assuring that every faculty member has duties and responsibilities commensurate with his or her appointment and that the program workload is distributed equitable among faculty.
  • Work in cooperation with the Chair to establish program policies and procedures.
  • Participate in budget planning including anticipation of funding needs and requests, controlling program expenditures, and accounting for the disbursements of all program funds in collaboration with the Department Chair.
  • Anticipate funding needs and request a program budget, control program expenditures, accounts for the disbursements of all program funds in collaboration with the Department Chair.
  • Monitor program standards to ensure that the program maintains accreditation by the appropriate accreditation body or bodies.
  • Perform instructional duties in the program to the extent that your position as program director allows and your curriculum requires.
  • Assure effective program operations.
  • Oversee ongoing program accreditation and assessment processes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
  • Assume the leadership role in the continued development of the program.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of master’s degree
  • Proficient in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration and academic advising
  • Documents three years’ clinical experience in the professional discipline.
  • Documents two years’ experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program
  • Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or an unrestricted state license for the state in which the program is located.

Working conditions:

  • The position is housed within Henry Ford Hospital Main in Downtown Detroit. The administrator must work in conjunction with Henry Ford Hospital administration as well as administration at the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
