The University of the Sciences is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in a full-time 12-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, commensurate with credentials and experience. Responsibilities of faculty include; teaching, advising, scholarship, and service. We seek a collaborative candidate who will contribute to our profession through innovative teaching and scholarship.

The Department of Physical Therapy is one of 4 programs housed in the Samson College of Health Sciences: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, and Kinesiology. The Department has 14 core faculty members engaged in a variety of clinical and scholarly activities. Our Program houses comprehensive research labs, a pro-bono clinic that facilitates student experiential learning, faculty-student capstone research, 40 weeks of clinical education, and multiple interprofessional opportunities internationally and throughout the Philadelphia area.

The successful candidate will be a physical therapist with an earned terminal academic degree (e.g. PhD, EdD, DHSc, ScD), in a field relevant to physical therapy. They will have demonstrated clinical expertise as a practicing physical therapist, have academic and/or clinical teaching experience at the University level, and have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Cardiopulmonary, Acute Care, Geriatrics, Health Promotion, Musculoskeletal, or teaching pedagogy and assessment. A candidate with a strong research agenda is preferred.

Applicants with a doctor of physical therapy degree (DPT) and evidence of American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties clinical expertise will also be considered. The candidate must have a current Pennsylvania license or be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
