Overview

This nine-month, non-tenure track faculty position requires teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses in the school, mentoring students, and providing service to the school, college, university, and professional organizations. The school administers programs in Exercise Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, Sport Coaching, and K-12 Physical Education Licensure. The ideal candidate would be qualified to teach, serve, and help manage content courses and programming within the undergraduate ACEND accredited didactic program in dietetics and the ACEND accredited Master’s-required Dietetic Internship program.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

A non-tenure-track appointment as an Instructor involves:

1. Teaching and mentoring undergraduate coursework.

2. Assisting with the assessment and evaluation of programs.

3. Advising/mentoring undergraduate students.

4. Providing service to the School, College, University, and professional organizations and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned master’s in Nutrition, Dietetics (or closely related field) with the expertise and qualifications to support Nutrition and Dietetics programming. Registered Dietician Credential. Ability to engage in Nutrition and Dietetics program management and assessment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds, programs, and colleges.
  • Knowledge of the field of Nutrition and Dietetics along with knowledge of the field of Kinesiology/Exercise Science.
  • Skill sets associated with use and application of common Nutritional/Dietetics methodologies, teaching, and scholarly tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and delivering courses and curriculum at the College level. Experience in ONLINE delivery systems like CANVAS. Experience establishing and managing external affiliations and supervising/mentoring students.
