SCHOOL OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY is a highly ranked, accredited program in the College of Health Sciences. TWU currently offers entry OTD and PhD in Occupational Therapy degrees, all in a rich scholarly environment. We are seeking an Associate Director for the Sophie Lin Rydin School of Occupational Therapy in Houston who will foster a climate of intellectual vitality and academic excellence, and will support our innovative and student-centered faculty members in their teaching, scholarship, and service activities. The Associate Director manages the day-to-day operations of the campus programs including budget and staff supervision. The Associate Director works closely with the School Director and the Associate Directors in Denton and Dallas, and is a member of the Council of Chairs.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A demonstrated record of teaching and service
  • Experience in leadership and inter-professional collaboration
  • An active line of research, funding and publication
  • Occupational therapy practice experience
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Required Qualifications:

  • An earned academic research doctorate
  • Eligibility for occupational therapist licensure in the State of Texas
  • Meet TWU criteria for Associate Professor/Professor, eligible for tenure

Setting: The TWU Institute of Health Sciences – Houston Center, located in the heart of the largest medical center in the world–the Texas Medical Center (TMC), offers programs in health care administration, nursing, nutrition and food sciences, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and an MBA. TMC includes 21 renowned hospitals and TWU is in the center of it all.
