Job Description
The Department of Interdisciplinary Human Sciences in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Open Rank Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice with a preferred start date of January 1, 2026.
We welcome all applicants who have a record of effective teaching and professional service. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching human sciences content utilizing online and face to face modalities, administrative experience, and a history of mentoring student research.
Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
Required Qualifications
1. Earned doctorate in a field related to Health and Human Sciences (e.g., family sciences, human development, family and consumer sciences, public health), or a related discipline by the time of appointment.
2. Evidence of effective collegiate teaching in online and face-to-face modalities.

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
1. Experience teaching graduate level research methods and statistics courses.
2. History of mentoring graduate and undergraduate scholarship.
3. Commitment to community-engaged teaching, outreach, or similar engaged projects.
4. Experience in administrative or leadership roles.
