Position Title: Nursing Faculty
School: Women’s College
Position Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE), Tenure-Track
Reports to: Program Director

Stephens College’s Nursing Program seeks a Full-Time (12-month) Tenure-Track position in the 3-year BSN program. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, experience, and energy to our newly developed, innovative BSN nursing program and have the ability to teach in multiple areas of clinical expertise. We seek a highly qualified professional with teaching and practice experience across multiple disciplines, including but not limited to pediatrics, quality and safety, nursing research, leadership and management, fundamentals, public health, and medical-surgical nursing.

The Nursing Faculty will:

1.  Support the mission, vision, and ideals of the College and the Nursing program.
2.  Engage in teaching, scholarship, and service activities as defined in the Faculty Personnel Policies and the
Constitution of the Corporate Faculty.
3.  Serve as principal faculty in the Nursing program with assigned teaching duties based on background and experience in class, clinical, laboratory, and            simulation settings.
4.  Provide academic advising to Nursing students, including tracking and documenting progression, communicating with the students and the program              director, and completing related college duties.
5.  Contribute to daily school operations.
6.  Develop and teach Nursing courses.
7.  Oversee and teach the clinical, laboratory, and simulation learning experiences.
8.  Develop and pursue a research and scholarly agenda engaging students.
9.  Contribute to accreditation and registration requirements.
10. Facilitate program assessment and evaluation.
11. Provide service to the college and profession.
12. Assist in the development and evaluation of curricula and programs.
13. Foster productive collaborations with Boone Health and community partners.

Essential Qualifications:

1.  Current active licensure to practice professional nursing in Missouri and has never been disciplined in any jurisdiction.
2.  MS in Nursing from an Accredited College or University that includes a clinical component.
3.  Experience teaching at the collegiate or university level.
4.  Ability to provide clinical teaching experiences across more than one specialty area.
5.  Record of clinical experience, more than 3 years.
6.  Ability to adapt teaching style to a wide variety of learners.
7.  Excellent collaborative and interpersonal communication skills.

Highly Desired:

1.  DNP or PhD in Nursing from an Accredited College or University.
2.  Doctoral research experience.
3.  Record of recent clinical experience, more than 5 years.
4.  Experience teaching baccalaureate and graduate-level nursing, particularly prelicensure.
5.  Experience with accreditation and program assessment.
6.  Experience in engaging undergraduate students in research opportunities.

Our vision is to prepare bold nurses who are passionate about improving health care for all people. The nursing program started with an academic-practice partnership with Boone Health in 2020 and includes over 1,000 applied learning hours at Boone Health and the surrounding healthcare community. The program accesses a state-of-the-art learning simulation center housed at the hospital one block from the school. The program has approval from the Missouri State Board of Nursing. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org). The program is approved for 24 students in each cohort. The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated nurse educators looking to grow and strengthen nursing in Missouri.
