Job Description:

Springfield College invites applications for a full-time, one-year, open-rank Professor of Healthcare Management position in the Departments of Business Management (School of Arts and Sciences) and Health Sciences (School of Health Sciences). The Department of Business Management offers undergraduate degrees in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and Healthcare Management, and an on-ground and on-line MBA, and collaborates with programs across the College such as Sports Management and Human Services/Organizational Leadership. The Department is poised for new growth and strategic development, including the active pursuit of AACSB accreditation. The School of Health Sciences includes programs in Health Sciences, Public Health,  Physician Assistant Studies, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Emergency Medical Services. Interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, and engaged student learning –  as well as global, intergenerational, and multicultural perspectives – are priorities of the School.

This shared position marks an exciting new partnership between the Health Sciences and Business Management, and features teaching responsibilities for both departments. We seek candidates with interdisciplinary expertise in areas of interest such as healthcare or rehabilitation management, healthcare finance, health law, healthcare ethics, sociology of health, public health, social determinants of health, or health equity.

A minimum of a masters degree is required; a doctoral degree is preferred. Candidates with robust practitioner, management, and teaching and program-building experience are especially sought. The individual hired will be expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching (in person and online), embrace community engagement and have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the business and health fields and in higher education, including racially just and culturally responsive pedagogies and inclusive classroom and curriculum design.
