The Division of Physical Therapy at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio is seeking an experienced and innovative leader to serve as the Program Director because of the retirement of the current Program Director. The Division of Physical Therapy is located in the College of Health Sciences and Professions which is one of the largest health colleges in the US. The program has a 35-year history of being a leader in physical therapy education in Ohio as the first program in Ohio to transition to both the master’s degree and the DPT degree. We have consistently provided a strong and challenging academic and clinical preparation for the students.
The program includes 13 talented faculty, 2 staff members, and 10 PT’s and PTA’s in the Ohio University Therapy Associates clinical unit. The program was recently re-accredited for 10 years.
The Program Director will be responsible for strategic planning, faculty scholarship and professional development, departmental operations and budget, curricular planning/implementation, and oversight of Ohio University Therapy Associates (providing contract clinical services in Athens County). The successful candidate will have previous experience with strategic planning, program growth, program and personnel assessment, curriculum analysis, diversity and inclusion, and accreditation.
- Hold an earned academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in higher education
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a physical therapist education program
- Previous experience in academic leadership
- Scholarship record consistent with appointment at the associate or full professor rank
- Licensed physical therapist in Ohio or eligible to be licensed in Ohio
