Overview

The Director of Nursing Education provides leadership and oversight for the nursing programs (Associate Degree Nursing, Licensed Practical Nursing, LPN to RN Advanced Placement Nursing and Nursing Assistant); manages nursing faculty, staff, and students; oversees curriculum coordination and development; collaborates with academic and healthcare colleagues on a local, state, and national basis; attracts and retains students; maintains ongoing approval by the Michigan Board of Nursing; secures national nursing accreditation; and manages the departmental budget. The director is responsible for implementing a strategy to ensure the quality, viability, and cost-effectiveness of each program or course within the department.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master of Science in Nursing (Michigan Board of Nursing Administrative Rule R338.10305a, 305a 3) from an accredited college or university.
  2. Technical knowledge in Nursing Education.
  3. Three to five (3-5) years in Nursing Leadership, Management, Education/Teaching.
  4. Unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan.
