Overview

Northeastern State University is seeking an instructor of Healthcare Administration in the College of Business and Technology. The Program offers online degrees: M.B.A. and B.B.A. in Health Organizations Administration, with emphases in Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics and Long Term Care Administration.

Candidate must have work experience in a healthcare administration setting with preferred experience in teaching in hybrid, online or cohort learning environments. The right faculty will be able to teach any of the healthcare administration courses needed at the undergraduate level and may also have the possibility of teaching elective courses in healthcare management-related areas.

In addition to teaching, this position involves student recruitment and internship/practicum coordination. Therefore, the right candidate will have contacts in the healthcare service industry and will be active in traveling and meeting with healthcare administration representatives. The person will also be expected to find and meet with prospective students from high schools, community colleges, returning students from industry and through social media.

While based on the Tahlequah campus, the faculty member may be assigned to teach classes and hold meetings as needed on the Broken Arrow campus or online.

Responsibilities:

Outstanding teaching and mentoring of students are required. Service, interaction with local healthcare partners for internships and experiential learning, and research are expected.

Degree Requirements:

Masters degree required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Professional experience in one or more of the following healthcare areas: hospital, long term care, or medical practice administration, health informatics, information technology, quality management is required.

Active membership in AUPHAACHEACHCAHIMSS or other relevant professional associations and/or knowledge of NABand/or CAHME accreditation standards and competency-based education is preferred.
