Overview

The Division of Operative Dentistry in the Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) on the Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) campus is currently recruiting for a faculty position in operative dentistry. The appointment will be a full-time (0.8 or 1.0 FTE) faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor for IUSD. The qualified candidate should have experience and an interest in teaching in the pre-doctoral and graduate operative curriculum and will be expected to support pre-clinical, clinical, and didactic courses at the pre-doctoral and graduate levels. Additionally, they will have the unique advantage of working in an environment with experienced colleagues in cariology and operative dentistry.

The primary expectations of this position include but are not limited to, providing preclinical, clinical, didactic and laboratory instruction aligned with the candidate’s interests, performance of services necessary to implement the educational and academic objectives of operative dentistry, and engagement in university service at the department, school, and university levels.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • DDS/DMD or equivalent;
  • Prior work experience in academia focused on various aspects of teaching operative dentistry and cariology in the pre-doctoral and/or graduate curriculum;
  • Graduate studies in a discipline related to operative dentistry (operative, restorative, cariology); and
  • Eligibility for licensure in the state of Indiana.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board certified or eligible for certification in operative dentistry.
