A faculty member is an appointee who shares in the responsibility of the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of the educational program of the College.

The Associate Dean will work Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at the College and remotely from home on Fridays.

Essential Functions:

·       Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the educational program.

·       Promote the best interests of the College and support its stated vision, mission, goals, and philosophy.

·       Maintain and further develop an academic environment supportive of learning, teaching, and community service.

·       Identify the learning needs of individual students and provide appropriate learning opportunities for them in consonance with stated objectives.

·       Exhibit competency in the use of college software, audio-visual equipment, and computers (e.g., email, SonisWeb, Paychex, Scantron, SharePointT etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

·       Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.

·       Master’s degree with a major in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing specialty.

·       Two full-time years of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level; one year of nursing work experience at the professional level must be within the five years immediately preceding application date.

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Teaching experience.

·       Recent acute care medical surgical nursing experience or long-term care experience.

·       Understanding of holistic health and healing principles.

·       Higher education teaching experience with diverse student population.

·       Experience with learning communities or team teaching.

·       Experience in curriculum development.

·       Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery, including web enhanced and online instruction.

·       Experience developing and using student centered, active and experiential learning strategies.

·       Experience integrating cross cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction.

·       Experience assessing student academic achievement of campus wide and classroom learning outcomes.

Compensation:

This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated professional to teach at a top community nursing college.  Compensation range is $140,000 – $150,000 commensurate with experience.  Benefits will be active on Day 1 of employment:
