Job Description
Tenure-Track Faculty: Phlebotomy
- Create a learning environment that fosters student success and the attainment of defined learning outcomes
- Participate in developing and reviewing curricula and instructional methods
- Assist in the articulation of courses within the division
- Develop, integrate and evaluate student learning outcomes within the framework of the Heartland Community College assessment protocols
- Remain current in one's discipline
- Advocate for student persistence and pathways to completion through cooperation with Student Success and Enrollment Services staff
- Manage student issues and problems in a manner consistent with the Student Handbook
- Serve the institution in a variety of ways; examples of service activity include, but are not limited to, participation on teams and committees, assistance with marketing and recruitment events, and promotion of a collegial work environment
- Participate in program review
- Associate degree or higher in a related health field
- At least one of the following:
- Licensure or certification in a related field from a certified phlebotomist agency such as: American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), National Phlebotomy Association
- Certified or Registered Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)(RMA)
- Licensed registered nurse (RN)
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience as a phlebotomist technician or in a directly related field
- Availability to teach daytime and/or evening courses
- Ability to work effectively and inclusively with diverse populations of students, colleagues, and community partners
- National Phlebotomy Instructor Certificate
- Teaching, training, supervision, or mentoring experience
- Curriculum development experience
- Experience with instructional technology
- Experience supporting or collaborating with healthcare partners
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
