Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) is searching for a full-time, tenure-track Faculty member of Health Care Studies, within the Health Science and Human Performance Department, who will be a part of the Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth Plus Community College (PRODiG+CC) program. The PRODiG+CC program is an initiative supported by SUNY system committed to:
(1) Increase the number and share of excellent diverse community college faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; (2) strengthen the pipeline for retention and support of these candidates; and (3) hire qualified faculty directly into tenure-track positions to support the community colleges’ efforts to build an educated workforce in the state.

This position is ideal for an individual with healthcare experience who enjoys teaching and advising students in their career pursuits. We are looking to expand the program across the college to include a robust shadowing program. FLCC offers courses in Fundamentals of Health Care – career exploration and professionalism, Ethics of Health Care, Medical Terminology, and more!

Teaching
- Develop and deliver high-quality, inclusive course materials and instruction.

- Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Advising, Service & Professional Development
- Advise and mentor students, supporting their academic progression and career aspirations.
- Serve on college committees and engage in shared governance.
- Stay current in emerging health care career trends and integrate into courses and programs.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth in teaching, learning, and disciplinary expertise.
Outreach
- Develop relationships with local healthcare organizations and businesses.
- Develop relationships with local high schools, including our Gemini program.
- Participate in student outreach and recruitment events such as open house and accepted student days.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship;
- Have a Master’s degree in a Health Care-related field or relevant terminal degree from an accredited institution completed prior to start date; and
- Demonstrate personal, academic, and/or work experience engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or a commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the campus community. Such experience may include, but is not limited to, an academic/scholarly track record focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; work, volunteer/ unpaid/community service; or related experience/expertise in serving underserved or vulnerable areas and/or populations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to teach at any of FLCC's campus locations (Canandaigua, Geneva, Newark, and Victor) in various delivery modes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Career placement advising experience.
- Prior college-level teaching experience.
- Experience teaching in multiple instructional modalities.

Current SUNY students, alumni, and/or Fellows.
From a low-income background (e.g., Pell-eligible as undergraduates), were first-generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor’s degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, or are veterans.

Benefits and Salary Range
Salary will depend on rank according to education and experience:
Instructor: $61,573
Assistant Professor: $68,631
Additional compensation opportunities may be available through overload, summer, and winter terms.
