Job Description
Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) is searching for a full-time, tenure-track Faculty member of Health Care Studies, within the Health Science and Human Performance Department, who will be a part of the Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth Plus Community College (PRODiG+CC) program. - Develop and deliver high-quality, inclusive course materials and instruction.
- Deliver instruction in multiple modalities, including in-person, asynchronous online, and HyFlex formats.
- Foster an inclusive, engaging, and student-centered learning environment.
- Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Advise and mentor students, supporting their academic progression and career aspirations.
- Serve on college committees and engage in shared governance.
- Stay current in emerging health care career trends and integrate into courses and programs.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth in teaching, learning, and disciplinary expertise.
- Develop relationships with local healthcare organizations and businesses.
- Develop relationships with local high schools, including our Gemini program.
- Participate in student outreach and recruitment events such as open house and accepted student days.
- Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship;
- Have a Master’s degree in a Health Care-related field or relevant terminal degree from an accredited institution completed prior to start date; and
- Demonstrate personal, academic, and/or work experience engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or a commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the campus community. Such experience may include, but is not limited to, an academic/scholarly track record focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; work, volunteer/ unpaid/community service; or related experience/expertise in serving underserved or vulnerable areas and/or populations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to teach at any of FLCC's campus locations (Canandaigua, Geneva, Newark, and Victor) in various delivery modes.
- Career placement advising experience.
- Prior college-level teaching experience.
- Experience teaching in multiple instructional modalities.
