Hiram College invites applications for a three-year renewable faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank in Sport Management. Sport Management is an interdisciplinary program in the Scarborough School of Business and Communication.

Hiram College, established in 1850 as the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute, is a nationally respected private residential liberal arts college located 30 miles from Cleveland in the historic Western Reserve region of Ohio. At Hiram, close student-faculty interaction and innovation is routine. The College’s distinctive academic calendar, the Hiram Plan, offers students the opportunity each semester for a 3-week intensive course, study abroad/away program, internship or research experience. The successful candidate will be an engaging educator who is able to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. The candidate will teach at all levels of the sport management major – with opportunities to develop new courses – and oversee the development of this new program, working closely with colleagues in psychology, communication, and exercise science. The successful candidate should provide evidence of a commitment to teaching within a liberal arts tradition and will be expected to regularly contribute to Hiram College’s First-Year Urgent Challenges Curriculum, and teach other courses as appropriate and needed within the college. The successful candidate will also be expected to serve as an academic advisor, provide service to the college, and maintain active scholarship in the field.

Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in sport management or related field and be able to provide evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate level. ABD candidates demonstrating significant progress toward completion will be considered.
