Samford University’s School of Public Health invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to apply for the position of assistant professor in the Department of Healthcare Administration. This full-time, tenure track position is a 12-month appointment. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs. This position will have the major responsibilities of teaching face-to-face and online, student mentorship, service, and scholarship in the Healthcare Administration and Healthcare Informatics and Information Management programs.

Qualified candidates will be a graduate of an accredited university with an earned doctorate degree in health administration, health informatics, health services research, public health, or a closely related field. The successful individual must exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills. The candidate must also embrace the interprofessional teaching model of the College of Health Sciences.

Salary will be dependent upon academic teaching experience, work experiences, research and scholarship accomplishments. Preference will be given to candidates who have face-to-face and online academic teaching experience in healthcare administration and informatics and information management.

The College of Health Sciences includes four schools: Ida Moffett School of Nursing, McWhorter School of Pharmacy, School of Health Professions, and School of Public Health. The college offers multiple degree programs and majors within the health sciences with an interprofessional education focus that reflects today’s team approach to health-care delivery and professional practice.
