Assistant or Associate Professor in Epidemiology

The University of Kentucky invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the College of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology. This position is being recruited in conjunction with the University of Kentucky, National Cancer Institute-designated, Markey Cancer Center. The successful candidate will be expected to: (1) establish and maintain a strong record of collaborative research, extramural funding, and publication in the area of molecular and/or genetic epidemiology; (2) participate in the teaching and mentoring of public health students, and (3) contribute to the mission of the College of Public Health through service as well as actively participate in the Markey Cancer Center, Cancer Prevention and Control Program. The faculty member will join a multi-disciplinary academic department with an extensive collaborative research portfolio and a robust teaching agenda in the college's fully accredited academic programs, which include the Master of Public Health (MPH), Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology and Biostatistics (PhD), and a college-wide Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) degree. The research infrastructure of the College is supported by a number of academic centers on campus, including the National Cancer Institute-designated Markey Cancer Center, Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences, Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center, Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, Center on Drug and Alcohol Research, and the Center for Innovation in Population Health. The University of Kentucky is one of only eight public land-grant universities containing the full array of medicine and health sciences, agriculture, engineering, business, law, and arts and sciences colleges on a single integrated campus. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in Epidemiology or a closely related terminal degree with an existing research focus on cancer related population science and be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Compensation will be competitive and aligned with the successful candidates experience and the responsibilities associated with this position.
