Overview

The position/s is in the Department of Health Sciences, Human Performance, and Communication Disorder. This is a full-time, 9-month faculty position.  The rank and tenure-status of the position is negotiable based on qualifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach a variety of health and physical education courses in the physical education and service programs. (Biomechanics of Exercise, Exercise physiology, and Materials & Methods in Physical Education).
  • Advise students and serving on Department, College, and University committees.
  • Perform research, including external funding, and scholarly publications in physical education or related areas.
  • Perform professional service to the university, community, and profession.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):

  • Earned doctorate in Health, Physical Education or related field
  • Demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a multi-ethnic, multicultural environment, documented commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
  • Evidence of research and grant writing.
  • Must have experience teaching a wide variety of courses and proficiency in teaching with the use of technology in the classroom.
  • Must be able to provide positive team oriented interaction with colleagues regarding curriculum and departmental decisions and model energetic and professional demeanor to students.
  • Candidates with P-12 physical education teaching in a public school setting are preferred.
