Overview

Regis College is actively seeking a Director for a new Online Masters of Public Health Program (MPH) in the School of Health Sciences. The Program Director position, working in conjunction with the Dean will provide leadership for the development, implementation, launch, and ongoing management of MPH program. The director will also seek and maintain future Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) accreditation. Preference will be given to applicants with an expertise in epidemiology or health policy. Experience with online MPH programs is preferred, but not required. Management experience in a health-related or academic area is desired. A passion for excellence with gentleness, a commitment to diversity, collaboration and innovation, and positive energy are fundamental to this position. This position includes administration of the program, teaching, scholarship, and service. Rank is commensurate with previous teaching experience, past scholarly achievement, and service.

This is a twelve-month position.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assume faculty leadership and provide mentoring and support for program faculty and staff development
  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence in student teaching and learning
  • Lead and manage the accreditation process for the MPH program and maintain accreditation with CEPH
  • Develop and implement curricula
  • Work collaboratively with university partners in creating an effective online environment
  • Prepare and oversee the annual budget
  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence in student teaching and learning
  • Schedule classes and assign faculty
  • Teach graduate level courses in public health.
  • Assess curricula and faculty.
  • Manage and coordinate the activities that support student recruitment, admission and retention
  • Engage in scholarly activity appropriate to the discipline such as publishing, presenting at national, regional, and local conferences, conducting research and/or grant writing and related activities.
  • Perform all roles and responsibilities associated with a full-time faculty appointment, including teaching, scholarship and service to the Department, School and Institution.
  • Participate in other duties as assigned.

Qualified Candidates Must Possess:

  • An MPH and earned doctorate in public health or in a related field
  • Required qualifications and actual hands on experience with the review process, documentations and self-study preparations and experience with CEPH accreditation- with evidence of success.
  • Experience with program assessment and evaluation.
  • Three years college or university experience teaching Public Health
  • Record of excellent administrative/organizational experience and abilities
  • A broad understanding of the field of public health
  • Preference will be given to applicants with an expertise in epidemiology or health policy.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Evidence of innovation, leadership, and application of best practices in public health education as well as contributions to the field through scholarship, grant writing, program review participation
  • Experience launching, leading, or participating in graduate programs preferred
  • Teaching experience in an online environment
