Rutgers School of Health Professions is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and visionary academic leader to fill the role of Program Director, Master of Science in Health Care Management (MSHM). The new Program Director will join SHP at an exciting time, inlcluding the expansion of the online Master of Science in Health Sciences Program.
The Program Director is responsible for administering all aspects of MSHM, including but not limited to: leading curriculum review and revision; designing and delivering MSHM courses and related continuing education initiatives; conducting and reporting on the annual assessment of student learning outcomes; advising students; developing and participating in recruitment and marketing of the program; actively participating in and fulfillment of progressive milestones in scholarship and research initiatives for the Program, Department, School and University; participating in department meetings and serving on departmental committees as needed; serving on SHP School-wide committees; and performing other duties commensurate with the functions of SHP Program Directors, as assigned by the Department Chair.
Minimum Education and Experience
The qualified candidate must possess a doctoral degree; a minimum of two to five years’ experience in academic program administration, including designing and teaching graduate-level, health care management courses in at least two of the following content areas: management and leadership, health economics, quality management, strategic planning, health care finance, current issues, legal and ethics, scientific writing or another core content category. Evidence of related scholarship and/or research, on-line teaching experience and strong administrative and communication skills are strongly desired. An established research and scholarly track record is required for Assistant and Associate Professor candidates.
