The Division of Pediatric Nephrology is recruiting a nephrologist to replace a retiring member of the three physician division.
The physician in this position is responsible to provide services in our affiliated children’s hospital. The University of Louisville School of Medicine and Norton’s Children’s Hospital are located in downtown Louisville. The Department has 20+ Sections and Divisions, with approximately 200 faculty members. The children’s hospital serves as the primary pediatric teaching facility for the University of Louisville School of Medicine. It is Kentucky’s only full-service, freestanding pediatric care facility dedicated exclusively to caring for and advocating for the health and well-being of children. The 267-bed facility serves over 150,000 children annually. The hospital has an active ECMO program as well as bone marrow, renal, and cardiac transplant programs. Academic rank and track are flexible depending on qualified candidate’s experience and academic interests.
The physician will provide educational, research, and clinical service activities in the Division. The preferred candidate must:
- be board eligible or certified in pediatric nephrology
- possess excellent clinical skills
- possess teaching skills to teach pediatric residents, students and fellows
- provide outstanding in-patient and out-patient care
- be an excellent communicator
