Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to apply for the position of instructor in the Department of Pharmaceutical, Social and Administrative Sciences. This is a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track appointment with full university benefits.
This individual will coordinate and teach our Human Resource Management and Pharmacy Law courses in the professional Pharm.D. curriculum, contribute to the Integrated Pharmacy Applications course, and serve as a faculty facilitator for student capstone projects. Responsibilities also include participation in departmental, school, college, and university committees and activities, and service to the profession through involvement in associations and educational programs.
Qualified candidates will have a degree in pharmacy and a Juris Doctor degree, as well as a graduate degree in a pharmacy administrative sciences field. Previous teaching experience is desired. Candidates should exhibit excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, and dedication to student-centered education. A commitment to Christian values, academic excellence and the ability to work effectively with faculty, students and colleagues is expected. The candidate should embrace the mission and vision of Samford University, the College of Health Sciences, McWhorter School of Pharmacy and the profession-wide vision of pharmacy practice in which the pharmacist is the health-care professional responsible for providing patient-centered care that promotes optimal drug therapy outcomes.
The College of Health Sciences is a new and innovative initiative for Samford.
