Louisiana State University in Shreveport seeks applications for a Director of our CEPH (Council on Education for Public Health) accredited Master of Public Health program. The person hired for this position will also hold an appointment as a clinical or tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Public Health. The ideal start date for this position is July 1, 2018. This is an existing position with dedicated funding. The position will report to the Chair of the Kinesiology and Health Department within the School of Human Sciences.
Previous administrator experience at the level of Program Director or higher is preferred. Applicants should have a terminal degree in a field of medicine and experience in an area of public health. Preference will be given to an individual holding both a Doctor of Medicine degree and a Master or terminal degree in Public Health. The candidate must be very familiar with CEPH accreditation processes, with preference for a candidate having successfully completed an initial or reaffirmation application with CEPH. An ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate preparation to develop an undergraduate program application for CEPH. Previous teaching in public health and in Epidemiology is required. Because this degree is offered jointly with the LSU Health Science Center, previous experience teaching at Academic Health Center. The selected applicant will be expected to teach two courses per semester in both the Fall and Spring semesters and one course in the summer. The successful applicant will be required to teach at the graduate level and may teach at the undergraduate level. Face-to-face and online teaching in an accelerated format are both expected. Candidates will be expected to produce scholarship at a level consistent with CEPH standards.
