Overview

The College of Business at The University of Texas at Arlington is inviting applications for the Director of the Health Care Administration program. We seek an individual with an academic background in healthcare administration and extensive experience in managing and leading healthcare enterprises. The individual will be appointed as an Associate Professor or Professor of Practice. This is a non-tenure earning position. While an earned doctorate in healthcare administration, or related field, is preferred, a masters qualified person with executive experience in the healthcare industry will suffice. Candidates should be proven high performance contributors, willing to build relationships with faculty, students, administrative officials, and the healthcare community. Much of the Director’s time will involve effective communications with program stakeholders, including members of a program advisory board and executives of enterprises in the healthcare industry. Knowledge of and experience with CAHME accreditation is also desired.

Essential Duties:

Teach courses in the HCAD (Healthcare Administration) program. Participate in a HCAD course and curriculum review and development. Lead efforts to obtain CAHME accreditation. Oversee and participate in actions and decisions in student recruitment, admission, and enrollment. Coordinate and participate in the HCAD Advisory Board. Provide administrative leadership of the HCAD program in the College of Business. Maintain appropriate AACSB and SAGS faculty qualifications as defined by the College of Business.

Required Qualifications:

Candidate will have an earned master’s degree in healthcare administration from an accredited (AACSB and/or CAHME) university and healthcare enterprise leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

An appropriate doctoral degree with teaching and research experience in healthcare administration.
