The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Program Director is responsible for assisting the Dean of Nursing with the administration of the MSN program and will participate in creating an environment that supports and enhances the College’s mission, vision, values, philosophy and quality improvement processes as they relate to the graduate nursing program. This position will assure the integrity of the graduate nursing curriculum and scheduling of practicum sites through effective planning, implementation, and evaluation of the graduate program; demonstrate expertise and successful instruction in the nursing field; advise and mentor graduate students and faculty members; coordinate the admissions process for the graduate program; facilitate the development and implementation of policies related to the graduate nursing program and maintain standards and assume responsibilities as delegated for accreditation with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Minimum requirements are an unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Wisconsin; a Master’s degree in nursing, and nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner are required, with an earned doctorate in nursing or a related discipline highly recommended. Knowledge and skill in the application of the principles and practices of educational leadership and administration, expert knowledge and skill in graduate curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation as well as student academic affairs and management of resources experience is required. A minimum of five years nursing experience within the past 10 years; three years experience as a faculty member in a baccalaureate or graduate nursing level program and two years in an administrative role in a nursing education program required. Current practice as an FNP.
