Baker College Professional Services, Inc. seeks to hire an individual to be assigned to the position of FULL-TIME FACULTY (DENTAL HYGIENE) for the benefit of and to be located at Baker of Clinton Township.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:The primary job duties for this position include teaching didactic and clinical courses in the Dental Hygiene Program. This individual must also participate in curriculum development, maintenance of accreditation standards, and student requirements tracking. It is essential that this individual represents the Dental Hygiene Program and Baker College in a professional manner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills must be demonstrated at all times.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

     Bachelor degree in Dental Hygiene or a related field required, Master’s or Doctorate degree preferred

●       Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) with current Michigan licensure or DDS or DMD

●       Certification in Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide sedation for the State of Michigan

●       Professional experience must include at least 3 years of continuous Dental Hygiene practice●       Documented courses in educational methodology

●       Minimum 2 years previous teaching experience in an accredited Dental Hygiene Program

●       Familiarity with Dental Hygiene accreditation standards

●       Willingness to travel to other Baker College campuses

●       Commitment to teaching excellence, as well as responsive to the needs of students and patients

●       Must be computer literate with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, and the Internet

●       Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as detail oriented

●       This job requires the ability to lift and maneuver independently up to 25 lbs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

●       Teach didactic and clinical courses in the Dental Hygiene Program

●       Community service coordination and tracking

●       Attendance and participation in college sponsored meetings, professional development, and orientations

●       Participation in professional association activities

●       Organize clinical demonstrations to students

●       Tracing documentation of student outcomes data and competencies

●       Other duties and projects as agreed upon by the Program Director for Dental Hygiene

WORK SCHEDULE: 

1720 hour Teaching Contract for one year only; flexible hours depending upon the needs of patient care

REPORTS TO: Program Director for Dental Hygiene

STARTING DATE:  August 1, 2018

COMPENSATION:   Salary based on education, experience, and existing wage rates paid for similar positions within Baker College Professional Services, Inc. Full benefit package
