The Assistant/Associate Professor of Sport Management will join a team of productive and motivated faculty who practice a student-centered approach to support preparing undergraduate and graduate students to become successful in their chosen professional careers. Candidates must be able to teach undergraduate sport management courses, provide academic advising to sport management students, engage in scholarships and service, and establish and maintain relationships within the sport industry/community.
The Assistant/Associate Professor will be expected to:
- Teach undergraduate courses primarily in the Sport Management program
- Work closely with other faculty in the Physical Education/School Health, Sport Coaching, and Athletic Administration
- Engage in academic advising for Sport Management majors
- Serve as chair, or as a committee member, for graduate student theses/project (“graduate faculty” status)
- Contribute through service on departmental committees
- Serve on Department, College, and University committees
- Provide service to the community, and to the profession
- Conduct and disseminate research and scholarship including both publications and presentations in Sport Management and related areas
- Participate in state and national organizations that serve the field of Sport Management and other organizations of interest
- Establish and maintain relationships with professionals in the sport industry
- Serve as University Supervisor for Sport Management students completing field experience practicums and internships
- Doctorate in Sport Management or related field
- Experience teaching Sport Management courses at the university level
- Ability to establish productive and collaborative working relationships with other faculty and staff
- Commitment to diversity and inclusivity through demonstrated experience working with diverse populations
- Experience teaching university undergraduate-level
- Experience teaching university graduate-level courses
- Experience teaching online courses
- Experience chairing graduate committees
- A record of scholarship in the field of Sport Management
- Knowledge of, and participation in curriculum development and program assessment
- Participation in state and national organizations

Appointment: Full-Time, Tenure-Track, 9 Month Appointment
