The desired applicant will have a strong academic background in human anatomy with application of the knowledge to clinical practice and teaching. Applicants will be expected to provide instruction to students at the Gainesville and Norcross/North Atlanta programs. Previous experience of teaching human anatomy in a higher education setting is preferred. Additional desirable qualifications include knowledge, teaching experience, and applied skills in kinesiology or neuroanatomy. Applicants with a clinical practice in occupational therapy, physical therapy or medicine preferred. The diversity of our faculty’s expertise allows for flexibility in negotiating teaching content. Possibilities exist to develop a scholarly writing or research agenda, graduate courses in areas of expertise, or advanced practice endeavors. Applicants who have attained doctoral candidacy status and have at least 3 years of teaching experience may be considered.
- Ph.D., Sc.D. , or M.D. preferred
- Applicants with a clinical doctorate in OT or PT will be considered
- Applicants with a degree and clinical practice in occupational therapy, physical therapy or medicine preferred
- 3 years teaching experience
- Applicants who have attained doctoral candidacy status and have at least 3 years of teaching experience may be considered.
Environmental and Working Conditions:
Normal environment found in an office and/or educational setting. Some exposure to outdoors and varying weather conditions may be required.
Physical Demands and Aptitudes:
Some lifting and or carrying objects may be required. This position requires repetitive usage of arms, legs, eyes to include sitting to a significant degree.
40 hours per week on a variable schedule depending on the teaching schedule and OT program track. Faculty are expected to teach across OT program tracks (Gainesville Day, Norcross Day, and Norcross Weekend) at both the Gainesville and Norcross/North Atlanta campuses. Hours may be extended to meet the needs of the department.
This position requires that the employee hold and continue to maintain a clean criminal history background. Applicants must be eligible for or hold a current Georgia license for their professional degree (OT, PT, SLP, MD etc.).
