Overview

The Departments of Physiology and Cell Biology and Internal Medicine at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine are jointly seeking to fill one research-intensive tenure-track assistant professor position.

Seventy-five percent effort will be protected for research and twenty-five percent effort will be dedicated to clinical responsibilities in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. The applicant’s research focus must align with existing faculty interests, which include cardiovascular, pulmonary, neural, and mitochondrial biology, biomedical imaging, mechanics, and modeling. Successful candidates will contribute to the college’s graduate and medical education missions. We are seeking individuals who are highly engaged and work well with basic and clinical collaborators. Competitive applicants must have M.D. and Ph.D. degrees, postdoctoral experience, and a demonstrated aptitude in competing for extramural grant support.
