Overview

Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences ( http://www.drake.edu/cphs/) invites applications for a full time twelve-month non-tenure or tenure track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Clinical Sciences Department. The position is available April 1, 2018. Candidates must have a PharmD degree. Additional training in Internal Medicine or Acute Care, such as a PGY-1, PGY-2, fellowship, or equivalent experience, is highly desirable. Eligibility for employment in Veterans Affairs Medical Center and pharmacist licensure in Iowa is required.

Primary responsibilities include provision of acute patient care services, provision of introductory and advanced pharmacy practice student educational experiences, teaching in didactic courses, and assisting in the delivery of interprofessional education. This individual will also be responsible for advising students, participating in College and University faculty governance, and engaging in scholarship efforts appropriate for a non-tenure or tenure track clinical position. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, a commitment to excellence in teaching, and expertise in delivery of interprofessional patient care in the acute care setting. The candidate should also be able to demonstrate a dedication to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusiveness. Review of applicants will continue until the position has been filled.

Duties:

  • Non-Tenure or tenure track, 12-month, full-time (1.0 FTE)
  • Develop, implement, and maintain advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPE) and introductory practice experiences (IPPE) in the setting
  • Evaluate student performance based on the competencies of the experiential education program
  • Participate in didactic teaching as directed by the department chair
  • Engage in scholarly endeavors and collaborate with other faculty and students
  • Participate in the governance of the department, college and university
  • Advise students enrolled in academic programs
  • Engage in other duties of faculty members as requested by the department chair and as specified in the Faculty Handbook and Academic Charter
