The University of the Incarnate Word is seeking applicants for a 12-month, tenure track faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the Feik School of Pharmacy. The expected practice site is the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System.

Essential Functions
Major responsibilities for this position include teaching in the didactic and experiential curriculum, providing a clinical pharmacy service to patients with acute medical conditions, service to the University, and scholarly activities. Official duties and responsibilities of tenure track faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service, and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
The applicant should have extensive experience in the management of internal medicine conditions and have the ability to work with students, patients, multi-disciplinary providers, and pharmacy staff to optimize patient care. Must possess the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Applicants should possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with 2 years of postgraduate residency training in internal medicine or pharmacotherapy, or equivalent experience.

Required Work Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience as a faculty member in a school of pharmacy and clinical experience in the management of internal medicine conditions.

Preferred Qualifications
Board certification in pharmacotherapy

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Applicants must be a licensed pharmacist and eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Texas. Applicants will be expected to become a certified preceptor with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Applicants must obtain and maintain credentialing with the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System.
