Overview

The Lewis-Clark State College Division of Education and Kinesiology seeks applicants for an assistant professor position in Kinesiology. Successful candidates are innovative, creative, and engaging faculty who wish to join a team committed to serving undergraduate students. Successful candidates should have a PhD or EdD in Sport Management or a related field prior to appointment date. ABD considered. Candidates are sought with evidence of expertise in a majority of the following areas: Sport Marketing and Advertising, Sport Law, Organization and Administration of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, Coaching Theory, Youth Sports and Recreation, and Technologies for Health and Wellness Professionals. Candidates should also have a proven ability to develop and deliver online courses, to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff, and should be committed to program assessment.

Salary: $50,000. Position contingent on final legislative approval.

Preferred Qualifications:

Able to implement new curriculum. Potential for scholarship demonstrated by publications, presentations, or grants. Active in relevant professional organizations. Experience providing academic advising for Sport Administration majors. Evidence of expertise in a majority of the following areas: Ethical Decision Making for Sport Leaders, Coaching Techniques and Strategies, and Socio-Cultural Aspects of Sport.

Responsibilities:

Teach 24 credit hours per academic year as assigned by Division Chair (teaching assignments may include online instruction); Advise Sport Administration majors; Be actively involved in relevant professional organizations; Develop a record of publications, presentations, and grants; Participate in Kinesiology program assessment; Serve on division and campus committees; Work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
