The Department of Health Policy and Management in the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University is seeking applicants for a non-tenure-accruing faculty position in the area of management at the Assistant Professor level (12-month appointment). Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
The Department offers a number of degrees, including an MPH in health policy, MS in health services research, a residential and online executive Master’s in Healthcare Administration (MHA), executive and online graduate programs, and doctoral programs including a DrPH in health policy and a PhD program in public policy with a concentration in health policy. The residential MHAProgram is a national- ranked, Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Management Education (CAHME) and National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) accredited program.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach in the Department’s academic programs and mentor and advise master and doctoral degree students. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in the residential Master’s in Health Administration (MHA) and online Executive MHA (MHA@GW) programs in quality and process improvement, marketing and general management. While not required, engagement in a research agenda is encouraged.
Applicants must have a terminal MD degree or PhD in healthcare management, public health or an allied field such as health services research. Applicants must have at least 3 years of teaching experience including full course design and instruction but can be part-time. Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience in both in-class and online instruction. A minimum of 3 years of management or clinical experience is also required but can run concurrently with teaching experience.
