The University of Houston College of Pharmacy invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Assistant Dean for Rio Grande Valley Satellite Campus. The successful candidate will also serve as a Clinical track faculty member in the College at the Assistant or Associate level. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The Assistant Dean reports to the Dean and represents the Dean on the RGV regional campus in leadership and management, serving as the senior administrative officer of the campus to promote the successful operation of the campus to meet goals set by the college and the University of Houston. The Assistant Dean is responsible for building relations with local clinics and pharmacies to assist in the development and quality of pharmacy practice and clerkship sites in the region. Further, the Assistant Dean works to enhance student recruitment and mentorship, is the liaison with community leaders on outreach initiatives to determine pharmacy relevant community health needs, and guides campus faculty and supervises campus staff in all aspects. This would include the areas of student affairs, admissions and recruiting, experiential programs, academic affairs, faculty development and teaching, and faculty research and service. In addition, the Assistant Dean would also be responsible for working with Administration, Medical, and Pharmacy leadership at Doctors Hospital Renaissance ( DHR) to provide leadership, strategic direction, and vision for the Residency Program as well as the day to day supervision and oversight of the Residency program.

Have an earned professional pharmacy degree (Pharm.D. Preferred) and a terminal degree if the professional degree is a not a Pharm.D; relevant experience in pharmacy education is preferred.
Five years of administrative experience in an academic or professional services program is preferred.
