Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Biopharmaceutical Sciences - Pharmaceutics/Biopharmaceutics
Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) is creating an innovative School of BioPharmacy offering a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree program. The School will admit its inaugural class in Fall 2014, pending accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
The KGI School of BioPharmacy is seeking applicants for a 12-month, full-time faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. Candidates will be expected to have a strong commitment to innovative teaching, research and service. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities for this position include teaching Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics in the Pharm.D. program and assisting in other courses as per the needs of the School. The successful candidate will also be expected to establish or maintain a strong research program. Faculty members will have access to significant start-up funds and KGI's Institutional Laboratory Support (ILS), which provides core laboratory space and cutting-edge instrumentation and services essential to nurturing interdisciplinary, applied research. All faculty members will be expected to assist in the accreditation efforts for the School and provide service to the School of BioPharmacy, KGI and the profession.
A Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Industrial Pharmacy or a closely related discipline is required for this position. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates with previous experience teaching Doctor of Pharmacy students, a pharmacy background, a track record of effective scholarship and research interests that complement the strengths of KGI will be given preference.
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
