Baker University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Exercise Science in the Department of Behavioral and Health Sciences to begin August, 2013.

The applicant must hold an earned doctorate (or be ABD) in Exercise Science or a related field by the date of appointment, and hold or be prepared to acquire ACSM certification. The preferred candidate will also have experience in exercise programming and instruction of ARC First Aid/ CPR.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses with preference given to candidates with the ability and experience to teach a range of courses in the exercise science major, as well as make contributions to our innovative new general education program. Strong candidates will maintain primary expertise in exercise science and/or subspecialties in human anatomy, exercise programming, kinesiology, exercise physiology, or athletic training. Additional responsibilities include continued scholarly development (especially involving undergraduates), student advising, and usual service to the department and college. Applicants must be dedicated to teaching in a small (ca. 850-student) college setting with a 4/4 teaching load, and be committed to student-centered learning.

Baker University is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, and is located in a small town approximately 50 minutes from Kansas City, and 15 minutes from Lawrence, KS.
