|The Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, located in Buies Creek, North Carolina, is seeking an exceptional leader to become the next chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice. The successful candidate will continue the strong tradition of advancing the profession in the field of clinical and community pharmacy. The chair of pharmacy practice serves on the executive committee of the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences with the chairs of the departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Clinical Research, Physician Assistant studies, and Public Health. The chair of Pharmacy Practice will report directly to the Dean of the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. |
The chair is expected to be a person with exceptional leadership abilities who will bring to the position a distinguished record of academic achievement and professional accomplishment. The chair must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or its equivalent from an accredited school or college of pharmacy, and is expected to have a record appropriate for the rank of tenured associate or full professor. The ideal candidate will:
Have a strong commitment to the academic values appropriate to the school's mission;
Demonstrate a record of successfully mentoring and developing faculty members;
Demonstrate a record of collaboration with other health professionals;
Have experience with interdisciplinary education (given the current expansion of health programs within the university);
Demonstrate a strong work ethic and leadership style that motivates and empowers faculty.
The Department Chair is the principal administrative officer of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and is responsible for the full range of program development within the department, including coordination of didactic and experiential training, research, drug information service, continuing education programming, budget preparation, faculty development, resource management, promotion and recruitment, and supervision of the department's residency program.
