Dakota State University is accepting applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in Exercise Science, effective August 2010. Requirements include an earned doctorate (ABD or Master's considered for a term position) in Exercise Science or a related field. Depending upon qualifications, teaching responsibilities will include courses such as exercise testing and prescription, exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor learning, introduction to research or kinesiology. Additional responsibilities include internship and practicum supervision, student advisement, committee work, and service to the university and community. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence as a classroom teacher, experience teaching with technology, and an active research agenda.
Dakota State has enhanced their Human Performance Lab to include a Woodway Desmo treadmill,Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association or the ability to obtain a CSCS within a calendar year of hire is required. Parvo True 1 metabolic cart, LIDO isokinetic dynamometer as well as body composition, flexibility and pulmonary function testing instruments.
