Description The sport management program at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), School of Kinesiology seeks a senior colleague (full professor or senior associate professor) to continue its field-defining expansion. In recent years the faculty has been augmented by scholars with expertise in economics, urban policy and economic development, management and organizational behavior, and marketing. Colleagues from those backgrounds as well as those with expertise in law, public policy, finance, business, sport management, the media (including Internet-based sport media), or marketing are encouraged to apply. A body of scientific research published in appropriate peer-reviewed journals and/or books that illustrate a sustained agenda focused on sport-related issues is required of all applicants. The successful candidate must possess an earned doctorate or equivalent terminal degree in the related field of study.

The University of Michigan's sport management program includes a robust undergraduate curriculum and degree, a professional master's degree, and a research-oriented Ph.D. program. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with leading students at each level and be part of a world-class environment for research, teaching, and involvement with the sport business community. The successful candidate will join a faculty committed to research and elevating the University of Michigan's sport management program to a position of international leadership. The program's external advisory committee includes leaders from all parts of the sport business industry including Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, real estate development, college sports, the media, and athletic equipment, apparel, and computer game corporations.
