Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY)seeks qualified applicants for the following faculty position:
Assistant/Associate Professor:
Health Care Management Program, School of Management, Business Programs
Metropolitan College of New York plans to offer a new BBA degree in Health Care Management in fall 2010. Applications are being solicited for a key faculty member who will also serve as Coordinator of the program.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will serve as the Program Coordinator and primary contact for students and other faculty teaching in the program. The Coordinator, in collaboration with the Dean of the School and Director of Business Programs, will articulate a vision to implement the plan for the Health Care Management Program. She/he will teach courses within the program, monitor market trends, coordinate teaching and faculty development, oversee assessment of the curriculum, and ensure academic excellence. The Coordinator will also build partnerships with other institutions and businesses regionally, nationally and internationally. Metropolitan College of New York faculty members share a commitment to the performance-based, Purpose-Centered Education model. They are expected to unite classroom theory with real-world practice and enthusiastically participate in development of a unique educational philosophy.
Qualifications: MCNY seeks an energetic, forward-thinking individual with a demonstrated record of success working within the health care industry, an earned doctorate with at least 5 years of academic experience, familiarity with adult learners, and commitment to educational innovation in market-sensitive adult and career-oriented programs. Knowledge of National/New York State Curricular standards and experience in managing similar programs preferred. Skill in the use of technology to support teaching and learning, and ability to work successfully within a diverse cultural setting required.
