The Department of Epidemiology in the College of Public Health at the University of Iowa is seeking candidates with specific training and expertise in infectious disease epidemiology for a tenure-track faculty position.
Duties of the faculty member will include directing the Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases, conducting federally funded research, teaching of graduate students and health professionals, advising students, mentoring faculty and students along with academic and public health service.
Candidates should have a MD, DrPH, DVM or PhD with appropriate epidemiologic and infectious disease training and experience.
We are seeking an outstanding investigator with an innovative record of research and experience in population-based infectious disease epidemiology, emerging infections, or pathogen transmission research to join a dynamic and collaborative research environment within the university. The successful candidate will have evidence of excellence in teaching, independent grant funding, and a publication track record consistent with that of an associate or full professor in a college of public health. Such candidate will also have research interests in infectious disease surveillance, molecular epidemiology, zoonotic diseases, risk factor investigation, epidemic modeling or vaccine research. The faculty member may be at the rank of associate professor to full professor, depending upon experience.
