POSITION SUMMARY
This 12 month position reports to the Director of Dental Hygiene and will teach dental hygiene students on both the first and second levels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*Teach dental hygiene laboratory, clinical and didactic courses
* Maintain weekly office hours
* Participate in departmental and institutional committees as assigned
* Assist in curriculum review and accreditation documentation
* Participate in student advising within the program and school wide
* Provide chair-side clinical instruction and feedback for students in the dental hygiene clinic
* Attend faculty meetings and workshops
* Supervise students during clinical/laboratory/class experiences
* Participate in dental community and program events
* Participate in professional and scholarly pursuits
* Assist Director as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
* Knowledge of the standard of care in dentistry
* Good communication ability and team-oriented attitude
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Interest in working in a teaching environment
* Technology skills and the ability to work collaboratively
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
* Ability to multi-task with interaction among patients, students and faculty members
* Hold current Cardiopulmonary Certification
* RDH from an accredited dental hygiene school
* BS/BA required; Master's preferred
* Current Georgia Dental Hygiene License or is licensure eligible
* Minimum of 2 years of clinical dental hygiene experience
* Teaching experience preferred
STARTING DATE: July 2010
