Harcum College, a leader among the nation’s 2 year colleges, is seeking a full-time faculty member for our Physical Therapist Assistant department for the 2010-2011 academic year. This position reports to the PTA Program Director.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This faculty position will be responsible for teaching, student advisement, course preparation and modification in compliance with CAPTE guidelines. This is a non-tenure track position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching across the day and evening curriculum all semesters.
Course preparation and modification in accordance with CAPTE criteria
Program support activities as directed by the PTA Program Director
Attendance at PTA program events (PTA Orientation, research presentations, college open house events, PTA faculty retreat)
Service to the college (committee attendance and participation)
REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred area of specialization: rehab, orthopedics and/or therapeutic exercise.
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience is required.
Prior teaching experience is preferred.
Maintenance of clinic hours will be required.
PT with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy strongly preferred; PTA with a bachelor’s degree will be considered.
Strong interpersonal/communication/clinical reasoning and organizational skills are a must.
Graduate of an accredited PT or PTA program with a current license in PA.
Current CPR certification is necessary.
APTA membership strongly desired.
