The Department of Public Health and Community Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine seeks a mid-to senior career nutrition professional at the Associate or Full Professor level to join our faculty and mount a significant independent or collaborative research program. The candidates should have a broad background in public health and nutrition, HIV and nutrition, international issues in nutrition, dietary assessment, relationships of diet and disease, and/or nutritional interventions. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in and develop research that is complementary or synergistic to ongoing projects in the department. The candidate is expected to teach and/or advise for our graduate programs, particularly the Masters of Public Health Program's Nutrition Concentration, which is offered in collaboration with the Tufts' Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. This non-tenured full-time position can begin as early as September 2010 and is a 12- month renewable appointment.

Qualifications:
An earned doctorate or equivalent in nutrition, public health, or public health nutrition, (registration in dietetics (RD) is highly desirable); Strong background in nutrition, nutritional evaluation, dietary assessment, nutrition interventions, nutrition in HIV infection, or nutrition in international health with significant experience with applications in real world settings; Demonstrated record of scholarly contributions in the field of nutrition and public health including teaching, research, publication and service; Experience in a multidisciplinary academic environment; Established research program and successful record of grant funding; Experience in epidemiology and study design, and understanding of data output; University teaching experience and a demonstrated ability and interest in teaching and mentoring graduate students; and Eligibility for an appointment as an Associate or Full professor in the School of Medicine.
