The College of Coastal Georgia (CCGA) is currently seeking applications and nominations for an outstanding faculty member to provide coordination and instruction for its new Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics (HI) program. The new faculty member will join a recently formed, fast growing Department of Business and Public Affairs consisting of motivated faculty members with records of academic and applied excellence. This position is academic year-based and contingent on receiving state program approval and funding. Rank and salary are commensurate with credentials and experience.
Qualifications:
Applicant must hold at least a Master's degree in informatics or a related field with prior successful post-secondary teaching experience; possession of a PhD and/or AHIMA certification (e.g., RHIA) are preferred. This position requires a commitment to coordinate a new 4-year HI program with teaching responsibilities in areas such as HI principles, health care information systems, health care data, records and management, ethics and field experiences/internships oversight. Official transcripts and a background check will be required of finalists.
CCGA is a newly designated state college in the 35 - member University System of Georgia. Located on the Georgia Coast, the College has campuses in Brunswick and Kingsland, Georgia. Presently, the College employs over 200 faculty and staff and serves over 3,000 students in baccalaureate and pre-baccalaureate programs. The College also provides lifelong learning programs, participates in economic development within the College service area and has strong partnerships with business and health care providers.
