ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, CLINICAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR
(Full-Time Position, With Benefits, Beginning September 1, 2010)
Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), Biology Department, seeks applications for a one-year renewable Assistant Professor, Clinical Education Coordinator of its Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP). This is a nine-month faculty position that requires both academic instruction as well as assisting in athletic training coverage and managing injuries for the College's intercollegiate athletics and performing arts club. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to coordinate the clinical component of the ATEP, function as an ACI, schedule in services, assist with curriculum, teach undergraduate courses within the ATEP, participate in student recruitment, advise ATEP students, and other duties as assigned by the department chair and/or program director. Teaching areas and specific athletic training assignments will be dependent upon the successful candidate's expertise as well as departmental needs. Collaborative and cooperative skills to work with other faculty and staff within the department, other disciplines and clinical sites are essential. NOTE: The ATEP is in the process of initial CAATE accreditation. MCLA is an NCAA Division III institution. This position will entail summer responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Athletic Training; Kinesiology; Exercise Physiology or related discipline. A BOC certification in good standing is required. Candidates must have or must be eligible for Massachusetts licensure. Candidates should have a minimum of three years athletic training experience with some college teaching and clinical supervision experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology or related discipline; CIE credential; CPR/AED/First Aid Professional Rescuer Instructor; Performing Arts experience; and knowledge of the CAATE accreditation process.
