Director of Experiential Education
The St. John Fisher College Wegmans School of Pharmacy invites applications for a Director of Experiential Education. This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position. The Director is expected to be active in service to the school, college, and profession, and engage in scholarly activity in areas of professional interest.
The Director reports to the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration and is responsible for the planning, implementation, and assessment of all experiential education activities at the school. The Director supervises the Assistant Director of Experiential Education, the Coordinator of Experiential Education, and staff support in the accomplishment of these duties. The Director works in a collaborative manner with school faculty as well as area preceptors and health care organizations to achieve the following:
- Establishment of vision and direction for experiential education at the School;
- Preceptor and site recruitment, development, assessment, and recognition;
- Development and implementation of a quality pharmacy practice experiential curriculum, including Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences;
- Service as course coordinator for all Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences;
- Continual review and improvement of processes and outcomes to ensure sustained excellence of the experiential education program at the School.
Qualified applicants will hold a Doctor or Bachelors' degree in Pharmacy and will be eligible for licensure in the state of New York. Previous academic or practice experience is required; prior academic administration experience is preferred. Successful candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication abilities, demonstrated leadership and management skills, and a strong desire to contribute to the development of the school and our community in an innovative, thoughtful, and collaborative manner.
