Job Description:
Group II Faculty - Instructor of Clinical Audiology
This is a full-time 11-month position for a qualified instructor to: 1) provide leadership and coordination for clinical education in audiology at the graduate and undergraduate levels, 2) oversee the practicum and professional education portions of the Au.D. course sequence, 3) contribute to teaching needs of the Au.D. and undergraduate programs, 4) participate in ongoing review, documentation, and revision of clinical protocols to ensure continued implementation of state-of-the-art clinical services and education, 5) enhance the quality of advising within the school of hearing speech, and language sciences, 6) provide limited clinical supervision, and 7) assist in service activities.
Ohio University is a state-assisted Doctoral Research-Extensive university with 20,000 students on its picturesque Athens campus and 8,500 students on five regional campuses. We offer a traditional and honors baccalaureate, a masters in speech-language pathology, a clinical doctorate in audiology, a Ph.D. program in hearing science, and a Ph.D. program in speech and language science. The School currently serves approximately 285 undergraduate students, 52 masters students, 21 Au.D. students, and 13 Ph.D. students. We have 13 full-time and 3 part-time emeriti faculty members, 5 clinical supervisors, 5 adjunct faculty members, a technical specialist, an administrative associate, and a clinical records management assistant. Current faculty members have active research programs in several specialty areas in communication sciences and disorders. The School's faculty, staff and students enjoy a highly collegial professional atmosphere.
The College of Health Sciences and Professions is housed in Grover Center. The facility houses offices and research laboratories for faculty, "smart" classrooms, a fitness/wellness center, and a spacious state-of-the-art Hearing, Speech and Language Clinic. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is for a 11-month instructor (Group II) appointment. Minimum Qualifications:
Required qualifications include: an Au.D or other doctoral-level degree in audiology or hearing science, a minimum of three-years full-time clinical practice experience, a Certificate of Clinical Competence in audiology awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and eligibility for state licensure in audiology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include teaching and clinical supervisory experience.
