Assistant/Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology
APPOINTMENT: Assistant/Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology. Tenure eligible position - regular 9-month academic year with summer teaching possible. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and some clinical supervision. Expertise in any area within the field of Communication Disorders will be considered. Starting date is January, 2011, or negotiable. Collaborative research with colleagues and students is especially encouraged. Must have good communication skills and an interest in working closely with others within the university community.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess the ASHA CCC-SLP and strong communication skills. A Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred, but the ABD will be considered. Must be eligible for Missouri license in Speech-Language Pathology. Previous teaching and clinical experience is desirable. Evidence of research interests and abilities, and supervisory experience are preferred. Individuals applying at the Associate rank level with experience in program management or other administrative experience are especially encouraged to apply.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Truman offers the B.A., B.S., and M.A. degrees in Communication Disorders and has been accredited (CAA) since 1970 by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. The Speech and Hearing Clinic provides services to clients of all ages, drawn from an area within a 60 mile radius. The department is anticipating relocation to a brand new University facility under current construction with a proposed completion of fall, 2011.
